Paul Chaplin Grimball

Paul Chaplin Grimball, Jr., 72, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Elizabeth Schwuchow Grimball entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 24, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in St. John's Parish Church, Johns Island at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. John's Parish Churchyard. The family will receive friends Monday in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Paul was born July 2, 1943 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Paul Chaplin Grimball and Leonora King Grimball. He retired from Southern Bell. He was a former member and Scout Leader of Boy's Scouts of America, former President of Sea Island Academy PTA, former president of Forest Lakes Civic Club and Morris Acres Civic Club. Paul was also a former member of The Clemson Band, Former Member of the Charleston Elks Club. Longtime coach of St. Andrew's Parks and Playgrounds and member of St. John's Parish Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Schwuchow Grimball of Charleston, SC, two daughters, Sarah G. Harriss (Richard) of Charleston, SC, and Stephanie G. Olson (John) of Johns Island, SC; two sons, Paul Chaplin Grimball, III., (Cheryl) of Johns Island, SC, and Michael Kinsey Grimball (Niki) of James Island, SC; sister, Katherine Venditti of Basking Ridge, NJ; nine grandchildren, Erik, Austin, Heather, George, Paul, Michael R., Anna-Kate, Michael K, and William.
