Paul "Smokey" Edward Dawkins, 64, of Meggett, SC, husband of Mary Catherine Fanning Dawkins entered into eternal rest Monday, April 21, 2014. His funeral service will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 1:00 pm. Interment with military honors, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Paul was born July 6, 1949 in Kingstree, SC, son of the late Bert Alvin Dawkins and the late Mildred Wheat Dawkins. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and retired from W.W. Grainger. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing his guitar and he was a jokester. He is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Dawkins of Meggett, SC; daughter, Chrissy Miller and her husband Carl of North Charleston, SC; brother, Dino and his wife Tracy of Charleston, SC; sister, Judy Pooser of Ladson, SC; two grandchildren, Payten Miller and C.J. Miller both of North Charleston, SC; nieces and nephews.
