Paul William Cuzzell, 81, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014. His family will greet friends at a Gathering of Friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street. Interment will be private.
Paul was born December 13, 1932 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Charles Louis Cuzzell, Sr.and Marie Koster Cuzzell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a retired pipefitter with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Paul was a member of the Pipefitters Union and the American Legion Post 0147. He was a past member of the B.P.O.E. Elks, the Shag Club, and the Charleston Rifle Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Stephens and her husband, Michael of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Buddy Craigmiles (Jamie) of Charleston, SC and Tiffany Sherrill of Charleston, SC; and his brother, Leonard K. Cuzzell of Charleston, SC. Paul is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Jayden, Ashlyn, Bree, Harper, and Trapper; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Charles Louis Cuzzell, Jr., John Anthony Cuzzell, Delores Watkins, Rosemary Clayton; and his longtime girlfriend, Dot Smith.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the caring team at Southern Care Hospice who helped Paul so much, especially to his aid, Anna.
