Paul Thomas Capó, Sr., 70, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Charlotte Elizabeth Wright Capó, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 10, 2015. A memorial service in his honor will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Fort Johnson Baptist Church, 1473 Camp Road, at 6:00 p.m. His Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at James Island Yacht Club, 734 Wampler Drive. Paul was born October 27, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina, a son of the late Pedro Capó and Lillian Warren Adicks. He was the owner of Paul's Hair Styling and a member of James Island American Legion Post 147, the Gamecocks Club, James Island Yacht Club, Charleston Inshore Anglers, Elks Club in West Ashley, Palmetto Long Rodders Association, and Fort Johnson Baptist Church.
A native of Charleston, Paul attended Porter Military Academy and joined the Marines at an early age. After that, he went to Capital Barber College in Columbia, returning to Charleston to begin a career as a master barber, spanning more than 52 years. He found a true passion in cutting hair and working with the public, treating everyone who walked in the door like family. He always had a ready smile and warm heart, open to everyone.
Paul also had a great love for his family, pets (especially Springer Spaniel, Penny), and his beloved Gamecocks. He loved fishing and taught his kids, and later his grandkids, a love of the sport. A special treat was taking his grandkids out on the water in his boat.
Above all, Paul loved his wife, Charlotte Elizabeth Wright Capó. Married on May 1, 1982, Paul and Charlotte embarked on a life long journey of love, adventures and happiness together.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; one daughter, Tammy Jo Dreyer-Capó (Patrick) of Crofton, MD; two sons, Paul Thomas Capó, Jr. (Candace) and Timothy Scott Capó, both of Summerville, SC; eight grandchildren, Rebekah Banerjee of Newark, DE, Paul Thomas Capó, III of Charleston, SC, Brianna Banerjee of Baltimore, MD, Alissa Brooke Capó of Summerville, SC, Ashley McDermett and Ryan McDermett, both of Summerville, SC, Isabella Dreyer and John Dreyer, both of Crofton, MD; one niece, Lillian Neal; one nephew, Shannon Wren; and three beloved pets, Scarlett, Sterling, and Colleen.
He is predeceased by his siblings: James Maxey, Gwendolyn Wren and Pamela Adicks; and his beloved pet, Penny.
