Patsy Stutts Matthews

Patsy Stutts Matthews, 72, of Kingstree, SC, wife of Rupert "Rudy" Bailey Matthews III entered into eternal rest Tuesday, January 25, 2022. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Patsy was born May 31, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Earl W. Stutts and Mary Louise Grady Stutts. She was a retired administrative assistant with the SC Dept. of Mental Health and was a former assistant to Dr. James Edwards at MUSC. Patsy attended the College of Charleston and numerous health related seminars. She resided with her family for 15 years in Aiken, SC and Guntersville, AL. They have resided in Kingstree, SC remodeling a 112 year old home for the past 14 years of which she was very proud. Patsy enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her husband. She was a former member of St. Philips Church in Charleston, SC and St. Albans Church, Kingstree, SC.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Rudy Matthews of Kingstree, SC; son, Garris Wilson Matthews (Gina) of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Kasey Leigh Habbick (Chad) of Goose Creek, SC; three sisters, Betty Gene Haller and Mary Lousie Stutts both of Kingstree, SC, JoAnn Stutts Heilker of Beaufort, SC; four grandchildren: Dalton Habbick, Miranda Habbick, Noah Matthews and Taylor Matthews.
