Patricia Gable Stubbs, 77, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Sidney W. Stubbs, Jr., passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013. The relatives and friends of Patricia Stubbs are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the graveside on Monday, July 8, 2013 in Christ Church Cemetery, 2304 Highway 17 North, Mount Pleasant at 11:00 am. The family will greet friends on Sunday, July 7, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 5:00 until 6:30 pm.

Patricia was born on February 19, 1936 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late John Dibert Gable and Elizabeth Garrett Gable. She was a graduate of Coker College and attended Clemson University. While at Clemson University, Mrs. Stubbs was a Chairlady of the Student AIA Auxiliary. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and worked for support of the SC Chapter Cottage at The Tamassee DAR School. She was also a member of the Crab Bank Ladies Sailing Society. Patricia enjoyed many hours of fellowship with her Supper Club and her Stitching Group. She was an avid traveler which enhanced her knowledge of genealogy, decorative arts, and literature. She was a life-long learner which she encouraged in her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Sidney W. Stubbs, Jr. of Mount Pleasant, SC; daughter, Eve Stubbs Smither of Mount Pleasant, SC; sons, Sidney Markey Stubbs of Columbia, SC and Gable DeLorme Stubbs of Greenville, SC; two grandsons and two granddaughters.
