Patricia Smoak Pye, 58, wife of Lonnie G. Pye of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012 at MUSC after a long, hard fight. The family will receive friends Monday, May 21, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. The funeral and burial services are private.
Born June 13, 1953 in Lawton, OK, Patricia was the daughter of William Hubert Smoak and Laura Jean Smoak Garner. She was last employed at Bishop Gadsen. She loved fishing, gardening, and her little dog, Mister. She was also a member of Folly Beach Angler's Fishing Club, and former member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 179. Patricia was very loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie G. Pye; mother, Laura Smoak Garner; daughter, Roxann Pye; son, Clarence Pye and his fiancé, Renee Itaralde; eight grandchildren, Amy Loewen, Megan Griffin and husband Chris, Katie Ralff, Jessica Itaralde, Jennifer Itaralde, Haley Loewen, Michael Loewen and Mark Bay; two great-grandchildren; sister, Leah Smoak of New Orleans, LA; and two brothers, Michael Smoak of TN, and William Smoak. Patricia was preceded in death by a sister, Kim, and stepfather, Dan Garner.
