Patricia Maxwell Day

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of Monday, July 18, 2011, Patricia Maxwell Day, wife of John E. Day, Jr. Residence, Charleston, South Carolina. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Day, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral service of the latter at Ashley River Baptist Church on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11am. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Wednesday, July 20, 2011from 5pm until 7pm.

Born January 25, 1937 in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of Quillian Maxwell and Sadie Bray Maxwell. She was an active member of Ashley River Baptist Church and was a former Outreach Director. Patricia was a graduate of Coker College, did graduate study at the University of Mississippi and received her Masters Degree from the Citadel.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, John E. Day, Jr. of Charleston; daughter: Juliet Day of Charleston: brothers: Leon Maxwell of Bamberg, SC and Danny Maxwell of Commerce, GA. Mrs. Day was preceded in death by a son: John E. "Jay" Day, III and a brother: Donald Maxwell.
