Patricia Ellen Buckley, 79, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, wife of the late Peter John Scala entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 13, 2025. Her graveside service will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025 in the Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street at 12:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Patricia was born November 8, 1945, in Mineola, New York, daughter of the late Daniel David Buckley and the late Arlene Krumenacker Buckley. She was a long-time member of Yeamans Hall Presbyterian Church. Pat is an Oneonta State College, Oneonta, NY graduate. In the 2000s she was awarded Oneonta Graduate Outstanding Alumni Award and she taught in the NY area until marrying Peter Scala. After marriage they joined the Peace Corp and upon completion of their service Pat then joined CARE. She worked 28 years with CARE internationally as a Program Manager. After retirement from CARE, Pat and Peter located in Charleston. She was the executive of the Sustainability Institute and volunteered at the Edmond Alston House. She actively participated in the Charleston Association of Grant Professionals and maintained membership at Yeamans Hall Presbyterian Church, local Toastmasters and North Charleston Arts Council. Pat was very involved in the showing and marketing of Peter's artwork.

She is survived by two sisters, Bonnie Buckley (Tom Molinari) of Sun City Hilton Head, SC and Jill Buckley of Bellport, NY; friends, Jimmie Johnson of Mount Pleasant, SC and Mary Jo Dulany.
