Patricia A. Bounds

Patricia A. Bounds, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on April 1, 1940, in Marion, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James Frank Ray and Irene Jackson Ray.

Patricia lived a remarkable life filled with adventure, love, and an appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. Her journey took her across the globe, from Casablanca, Morocco, to Frankfurt, Germany, the Philippines, and Alaska, before settling in the place she cherished—Edisto Island, South Carolina.

A 1958 graduate of Macedonia High School, Patricia furthered her education at Palmer Technical College in Charleston, South Carolina. She embraced life with a passion for travel, golf, horseback riding, and gardening, always finding joy in the outdoors and the simple pleasures of nature.

Above all, Patricia loved her family. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Clay Bounds, and a caring sister to Shirley Todd, Charles Larry Ray, John Curtis Ray, and James Alton Ray, all of whom preceded her in death. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her daughter, Melody Prisock, and her husband, Bill Prisock. Her best friend and sister Judy Inman. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Sarah-Anne Young (Kevin) and Barrett Powers (Lizz). Her great-grandchildren, Caroline, Haddie Claire, Beck, and Ava, were her greatest joy.

Patricia's warmth, wisdom, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and exploration lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 3pm, at the Trinity Church on Edisto Island 1589 Highway 174 Edisto Island, SC 29438. Burial will follow in the Churchyard. Memorials may be made to Trinity Church PO Box 425 Edisto Island, SC 29438.
