Patrecia Bayman Minges, 88, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017. Born October 6, 1928 in New Haven, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Richard G. Bayman and Elizabeth H. Bayman. Patty attended Newberry College and The University of South Carolina. In 1941, she and her family moved to Charleston, SC where she later married Philip S. Minges, Jr in 1950. Philip's job took them to Camden, SC where they raised their 4 children.
Patty was a devoted wife and mother, who loved supporting all her children's activities. She also had a passion for playing bridge, entertaining and of course a good laugh. She was also a founding member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, and most recently a member of St. Andrew's Church in Mt Pleasant, SC.
In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Semon Minges, Jr, her son, Philip Semon Minges, III, and her sister Bonnie Bayman Mordecai. She is survived by three children, Sherry Minges Blackwood (David) of Wilson, NC, Laurie Minges Thornhill of Mount Pleasant, SC and Richard Bayman Minges (Susan) of Charlotte, NC. Patty is also survived by her grandchildren Reagan Jackson (Ashley), Elizabeth Jameson (Kyle), Lucy Thornhill, Philip Minges, Sarah Minges, Henry Minges and one great grand child Mary Mac Jackson. In addition she is survived by her brother Charles Richard Bayman, of Warren, Ohio.
The family will have a private interment at the Citadel Bell Tower and a reception to celebrate Patty's life in Camden at Springdale Hall on January 22nd at 2:30 pm.
