Pamela “Pam” Harmon Smith, 73, of North Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Bryan Beckes Smith, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 2:00PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Pam was born November 24, 1952, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Archie Sinclair Harmon Sr. and the late Adelaide Ruth Henry Harmon. She attended Saint John Catholic School and Bishop England. Following high school, Pam began her career at First Citizens Bank, which allowed her to buy her beloved yellow Ford Pinto and set off on many adventures. Pam dedicated 42 years to First Citizens Bank, where she served generations of Lowcountry families. She never met a stranger, which often caused trips to the fair or the grocery store to last much longer than anticipated because of all the friends she encountered along the way.
Pam loved spending time at the lake where boating, group dinners, golf cart rides, sunsets, and campfires with family and friends filled her days. You knew she was about to get into mischief or tell a tall tale when her eyes began to twinkle and her lip drew tight. Many happy hours were spent at garage parties and dancing with Gene and Becky Dempsey and friends.
Pam loved baking during the holidays, and no gathering was complete without her southern potato salad or Willard Hewitt’s rum cake. You were lucky if you got to share her slow Sundays and big roasts. Pam dearly loved her friends, family, and animals. She spoiled her dogs, cats, and granddogs without restraint.
When you find yourself missing Pam, put on Sonny and Cher’s “I Got You Babe,” gather a few great friends, watch a beautiful sunset, and remember Pam’s life, full of love and good times.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Norma Hallex (Bruce); brother, Archie Harmon Jr. “Bubba” (Michelle); son, Christopher Bryan Mazyck Smith (Amy Kaspar) of Greer, South Carolina; daughter, Charlotte Victoria McMillan Reikofski (Kenneth) of Hillsborough, North Carolina; and two granddaughters, Lily Smith and Lucy Smith. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews: Brandon Hallex (Stephanie), Jody Sweeney (Candy), Jamie Sweeney (Kim), Summer Harmon, and Christopher Harmon. She adored her many grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Harmon Hampton (Billy).
In lieu of flowers, donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital are accepted at www.stjude..org
