Opal Butler Prather, 89, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late James Joseph Prather passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. A Celebration of Opal's Life will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 in the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, 681 McCants Drive at 11:00 am. Interment will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville, KY. The family will receive friends Saturday in First Baptist Church of Mt. Mrs. Prather was born October 31, 1923 in Thomaston, Georgia, daughter of the late John Nicholas Butler and the Carrie Belle Allgood Butler. She was a retired Legal Secretary and was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia P. Caldwell of Charleston, SC, and Denise P. Richardson of Bowdon, GA; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
