Ollie Robert Emory, 74, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Johnny Lou Weeks Emory died Tuesday, November 17, 2015. His funeral service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 in The Church of the Holy Communion, 218 Ashley Avenue at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Bob was born December 24, 1940 in Selma, North Carolina, son of the late Ollie Roscoe Emory and Thanie Phillips Emory. Bob was a graduate of Catawba College, held Masters and Doctorate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was a former language professor at the University of Oklahoma, Wartburg College, and retired from The Citadel as a former department head and Professor of Modern Languages. He was a former member of Alliance Francaise, an honorary member of The French National Honor Society, former BSA Troop Leader, former vestry member and head of The Lector Guild at The Church of the Holy Communion.

Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Johnny Lou of Charleston; daughter, Catherine Emory of Charleston, SC; son, Robert Leonard Emory (Perry Sclafani) of Wilton Manors, FL; two sisters: Mozelle E. Carroll of Smithfield, NC and Beulah E. Holland of Spring Hope, NC.
