Norton W. "Skip" Jennette, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Charleston, South Carolina. Born on April 24, 1938, in Charleston, he lived a life filled with devotion to family and faith.

Skip spent 65 wonderful years as the cherished husband of Gloria Jean Cantey Jennette, also of Mount Pleasant, SC. He is also survived by their children, Adrienne Jennette Lauder and her husband, Bruce and Norton Winton Jennette II and his wife, Lynn, all of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Skip was a proud grandfather to Elizabeth Lauder Margosian and her husband, David, and Daniel Bruce Lauder and his wife, Kaitie. He was particularly joyful in the company of his two great-grandchildren, Grace and Christian. Skip also held a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews, who brought him much happiness.

Skip was a man of strong faith and an active member of the church community. Having attended Ocean Grove Methodist Church, he later became a member of Point Hope Church, where he found joy and fellowship with other believers. Beyond his spiritual pursuits, Skip was a dedicated football fan, particularly of the Gamecocks, and found pleasure in watching old movies. Many cherished memories were created during family gatherings at the Outer Banks, where his love for family truly shone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lizzie Jackson Barrs and Hubert Winton Jennette, and his brother, Ronald Heath Jennette.

Visitation will be held on January 13, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at J Henry Stuhr Mount Pleasant, located at 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. The funeral service will take place the following day, January 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Point Hope Church, situated at 3404 Turgot Ln, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466, with interment to follow in Wilson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Point Hope Church 3404 Turgot Lan, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466.
