Norman Patrick “Pat” Owens, 85, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of the late Melvena Sue Williams Owens entered into eternal rest Friday, March 6, 2026.

His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Saturday, one hour prior to the service starting at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Pat was born February 18, 1941 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, son of the late Jacob Norman Owens and Dorothy Louise Keel Owens of Barnwell County, SC.

He was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard where he worked in Ship Building, Conversion, and Repairs. Pat loved his family and was a dedicated husband, father, and son. He always liked classic cars and attending car shows. He loved nature and the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Pat is survived by his son, Curtis Lee Owens; daughter, Sheila Renee Owens; daughter, Crystal Lynn Dunaway (Scott); granddaughter, Ellen Marie Owens; grandsons, Branson and Landon Dunaway, Daniel Lewis Owens, and Christopher Corley Owens; several great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Harry Lanier (Skeet) Birt; sisters-in-law, Martina Lou Williams Hart (Charlie), Joyce Cox Williams Hopkins, Eleanor Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Ladon Owens; sister, Dorothy Faye Birt of Barnwell, SC.
