Norman Williams Doudiet

Norman Williams Doudiet, 75, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of JoAnn Rogers Doudiet, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 11, 2025. His graveside funeral service will take place Friday, December 19, 2025 in Christ-St. Paul's Cemetery at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Norman was born December 29, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Samuel Birkbeck Doudiet and Ruth Platt Doudiet. Upon graduating from James Island High School in 1969, Norman joined the U.S. Naval Reserve following in the footsteps of his father. After completing active duty service and earning a Criminal Justice Associates Degree, he served with the North Charleston Police Department, then joined the Charleston County Sheriff's Office as a patrolman. He served as a patrolman, detective and finally in logistics, retiring as a Sergeant.

He was also a Shriner and enjoyed his time as a member, especially participating in Christmas parades over the years.

In addition to his wife, Norman is survived by his daughter, Michelle R. Doudiet of Charleston; his sister, Elizabeth Doudiet Tyrrell (Charlie) of Hollywood, SC; a niece, Rainey Elizabeth Wilson (Taylor) of Richmond, VA; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his grandparents and an infant daughter.

Memorial donations can be made in his memory to Shriners Children’s, c/o Office of Philanthropy, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or to the Christ-St. Paul's Church Building Fund, 4981 Chapel Road, Hollywood, SC 29449.
