Nolan Selmar Deden, 82, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Virginia Lucas Deden entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 8, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 in Old St. Andrew's Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River Road at 11:00 a.m. Interment, churchyard. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
Nolan was born September 28, 1932 in Holyoke, Colorado, son of John David William Deden and Ida Brandt Deden. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and worked for Burbage Tire Co. and Goodyear Tire Co. until retirement. He was an active member of CATES Tractor Club and the Lowcountry Tractor Club. He was also a member of Old St. Andrew's Parish Church.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his two sons, John David (Jeanette) Deden of Charleston, SC and Robert Taft (Elizabeth) Deden of Houston, TX; his daughter, Virginia Deden Burton (Jim) of Columbia, SC; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
