Nina Georgi Wilson

Nina Helen Georgi Wilson, 97, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, widow of Julian Middleton Wilson, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family, Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

Nina was born June 26, 1924 in Norwalk, Connecticut, daughter of John Steinberg and Helen Georgi Steinberg Locke. She was raised by her mother in Queens, (Astoria) New York, where she graduated from Julia Richmond School. After graduation, Nina worked at Gimbels Department Store and as a model for a fur company in the Garment District of New York City. She met and wed her husband in New York after he returned as a naval officer from the Pacific Theater during WWII. Later they returned to his hometown of Charleston, SC to raise their family.

Nina was an active member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Mt. Pleasant where she served on the service and prayer committees. She also volunteered at the Crisis Ministries Soup Kitchen for years and was a Cub Scout and Brownie Scout Leader. Nina's passion in life was her family and she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by three children: Susan Wilson Storen (Billy), Stephen Allen Wilson (Sharon) and Elizabeth Wilson Haskin (Bill); four grandchildren: William Perry Storen (fiancée Tessa), Stephen Allen Wilson, Jr. Elizabeth Wilson Lovelace (Ben) and William Benjamin Haskin III; and three great-grandchildren: Elle, Pearce and Bo. Nina was preceded in death by her beloved son, Julian Middleton Wilson, Jr.

A private graveside service will be held at Christ Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or charity of one's choice.

Her family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Franke at Seaside, where she resided for the past sixteen years, and also to Lutheran Hospice for the loving care given to our mother.
