Nina Dean Broughton Jordon, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Bobby Jordon Sr, entered into eternal rest Monday, September 29, 2025. The family will receive friends Friday, October 10, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
Nina was born August 13, 1936 to Mr. William Spears Broughton, Sr. and Mrs. Annie Gwedoleine Lindler Broughton and spent her childhood in and around Aiken, SC.
Nina enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach and in the mountains. She was quite artistic and enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, crocheting, painting/drawing, and painting ceramics. Additionally, she enjoyed playing basketball as a youngster and participating in bowling leagues for numerous years in adulthood. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer for many, many years before joining Charlestowne Methodist Church. Her Christian faith was very sacred to her.
Nina proudly retired from American President Lines in 1996 after a long and well respected career on the Charleston waterfront. She spent her later years enjoying special time with her children and grandchildren, whom she loved fiercely and wholeheartedly.
Nina is survived by 5 children. They are Charles Leavitt (wife Lola), Carol Jordon Rudd (husband Ron), Karen Leavitt, Bobby Jordon, Jr. (wife Brenda), and Sallie Jordon Shelters (husband Shawn). She was grandmother to many, including great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Nina was predeceased by her husband, Bob, brothers William and George, sister Mattie Hardin, daughter Diane Jordon, and granddaughter, Nina Leavitt. She will forever be missed by those she's left behind
