December 24, 1950 – December 27, 2025
Nika "Kolya" Gurovich, 75, of Summerville, South Carolina, loving husband of Irina Gurovich, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Along with his wife of 52 years, Nika is survived by his two sons, Egor "Gosha" Gurovich (Lena) and Evgeni "Ioni" Gurovich (Maria). His four grandchildren Lev, Miriam "Mia", Yosef, and Mila as well as his sister Raya Gurovich Gendziuk.
Nika was born December 24, 1950, in Kyiv, Ukraine, son of Abraham Gurovich and Lyubov Besmertnaya Gurovich.
He grew up in post-war Kyiv, and later attended the Radio Technical University in Taganrog where he obtained a masters degree in electrical engineering.
A loving father and dedicated husband, he twice made the decision to move with his family and start a new life - first to Israel and later to the United States in pursuit of better opportunities for his children. He worked tirelessly to build a comfortable life for his family, making many lifelong friends along the way.
Nika was an avid fisherman, mushroom forager, and cook. He was known for his calm presence, patience, kindness, wisdom, and willingness to teach and help others.
His graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the Emanu-El Cemetery (Maryville), Sycamore Avenue at 2:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
