Nicholas " Nick" Athanas Tsiropoulos, 94, of Marietta, Georgia, formerly of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 17, 2018. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 19, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where a Trisagion service will be held at 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 in the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, 30 Race Street at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in Bethany Cemetery.
Nick was born March 10, 1924 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Athanas Tsiropoulos and Efterpe Stamatiades Tsiropoulos. He was a decorated WWII veteran of the US Army Air Corps, flying air strikes against the Japanese. Nick and his brothers owned and operated the Palmetto Bottling Company in Charleston and he was a retired electrical engineer with the Charleston Naval Shipyard Nick was a life member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity.
He is survived by three nieces, Tassie Mamalakis Wainwright (Henry) of Marietta, GA, Evangeline Mamalakis (Mika) of San Diego, CA, Pat Alexander of Atlanta, GA; two nephews, Manuel Mamalakis (Staci) of Lincoln, CA, and Arthur Tsiropoulos (Gina) of Atlanta, GA; long time friend Louise Gladden. Nick was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva Tsiropoulos, Anna Mamalakis, Ecelete Alexander, and two brothers Andrew Trisopoulos, and Theodore Trisopoulos.
