Nettie Lemacks Patrick, 85, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 30th, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 8, 1941, in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lawton S. Lemacks and Josie Herndon Lemacks McManus.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services of Nettie L. Patrick, affectionately known as Nana, on Wednesday, September 2nd at Charleston First Assembly of God, 2957 Savannah Highway, Charleston, South Carolina. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm followed by the Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm. The entombment will be held at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, South Carolina.
Nettie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, whose greatest joys in life were her family and her faith. For 85 years, she lived with a gentle heart, a giving spirit, and an unwavering love for those around her, especially her beloved husband, Perry.
Her family was her greatest blessing. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones and was always there with a listening ear, a warm hug, and a comforting word. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, strength, and faith that will continue through the generations.
She was a faithful and devoted member of Charleston First Assembly, where she worshiped and served for many years. Her church family was an important part of her life, and her faith in God guided her through both joyful and difficult seasons. She never hesitated to encourage others, pray for those in need, or share the love of Christ through her words and her actions.
Nettie loved to love people. Those who knew her couldn’t help but to fall in love with her. Her hands were rarely still as she was always sewing, knitting, or crocheting for friends and family. She loved to garden, and if she wasn’t working outside in her yard, she was sharing her love for cooking and making her special treats for all to enjoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawton S. Lemacks and Josie Herndon Lemacks McManus; her loving husband, Perry G. Patrick, Sr.; her son, James Ricky Patrick; and her two brothers, LaVern Lemacks and Lawton (Buddy) Lemacks.
She is survived by her children, Perry Gene Patrick, Jr. (Jinks) and Bonnie Banzon (Victor); Her six grandchildren, Rachel Patrick, Ricky Patrick (Ashley), Nettie Danielle Zachmann (Eddie), Megan Patrick, Ashley Jur (Austin) and Kimberlee Russell (Randall); Her four great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, Tanner Patrick, Brynn Zachmann, Ryan Zachmann and Tyler Russell; Her brothers, Jimmy McManus of Georgetown, South Carolina and Eddie Lemacks (Debbie) of Columbia, South Carolina; Her sisters, Donna Way of Harleyville, South Carolina and Anne Marie Lemacks of Ridgeville, South Carolina; and many other beloved family members and friends.
Those who knew her will remember her beautiful spirit, her kindness, her strength, and the love she so freely gave. At 85, she lived a long and meaningful life, touching countless hearts along the way. Although our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort knowing that she is now resting in the arms of her Lord. Her earthly journey is complete, but the love she gave and the faith she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
--Matthew 25:23
