Nell Elizabeth Lutge

Nell Elizabeth Lutge, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Rudolph William Lutge, Sr., entered into eternal rest Friday, October 1, 2021. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in Bethany United Methodist Church, James Island, 1853 Maybank Hwy. at 12:00 p.m. The family will greet friends one hour prior at the church. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Nell was born July 30, 1932, in Gaffney, South Carolina, daughter of James Fred Badger and Jeanette Kendrick Badger. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church on James Island where she was in charge of the nursery and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Nell also worked as a child care worker for more than twenty years at James Island Baptist Church and Loving and Learning Child Care and Educational Center on James Island. She hand made hats for homeless veterans, veterans in Afghanistan as well as children in Mississippi, Arizona and Peru.

Nell is survived by three daughters: Elizabeth Warren, Patricia Mylin (Bill) and Robin Hunt, son; Rudolph W. Lutge, Jr., seven grandchildren: Willie Mylin (Amy), Linda Davies (Tim), Andy Mylin (Julie), Ali Mylin-Otherson (Shaun), Rhett Warren (Gracie), Alicia Saune (Noconi) and Juddson Green; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Morrison and two brothers, Ben Badger and Joe Badger.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years; son, Henry Fred Lutge; sister Barbara Spitzer and brothers, James Fred Badger, Jr. and Kenneth L. Badger.
