Neil Verner Dawson, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Louis Young Dawson III entered into eternal rest the morning of September 2, 2024. Her funeral service will be held graveside Friday, September 6, 2024 at Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Avenue at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends following the service at the Carolina Yacht Club, 50 East Bay Street, from 2pm until 4pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. 

Mrs. Dawson was born August 3, 1935 to the late David Battle Verner and Elizabeth Neil Verner. Mrs. Dawson graduated from Ashley Hall and attended the College of Charleston. She was also a member of many civic organizations. 

Mrs. Dawson is survived by her sister, Lucy Verner Seabrook; her daughters: Virginia Dawson Lane (Charles), Elizabeth Dawson Hassell (Fleetwood) and Mary Stuart Dawson Sutton (Mike); her grandchildren: Beverly Lane Smith (Shawn), Charles Glover Lane, Jr. (Margeaux), Virginia Lane Stitzer (Brandt), Fleetwood Sharp Hassell (Ellen), Louis Dawson Hassell (Colleen); and 7 great-grandchildren.
