 Nathan "Nate" Young Thomson, 29, of Isle of Palms, SC, departed this life on Monday, November 1, 2010, to be with our Father in heaven. He is now in our Father's loving arms. The relatives and friends of Nathan Thomson are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, November 5, 2010, in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Thursday, November 4, 2010, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Nate was born on July 9, 1981, in Charleston, South Carolina. He was the son of Joni Ailleen Moody and the late Eber Young Thomson, III. He was a graduate of Wando High School and worked as a Pizza Chef and as a Landscaper. He loved animals and was a member of the Charleston Animal Society. Nate loved baseball, especially the Cubs, and was a fan of the Detroit Redwings and the USC Gamecocks. He possessed a wonderful wit and sense of humor; a huge heart, and could find humor in any situation. Nate had the great ability to crack jokes about even the most mundane things and could make anyone laugh. He was truly a beloved son, brother, husband, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his mother, Joni Moody of Daniel Island, SC; his father, Cary Merrill of Charleston, SC; wife, Kaley Lake of Isle of Palms, SC; brother, Jeremy Alan Thomson of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandmother, Virginia Merrill of Fort Worth, TX; half-brother, Tommy Thomson of North Charleston, SC; half-sisters, Savannah Thomson of North Charleston, SC and Madison Marie Merrill of Charleston, SC; step-brothers, Sam Engle and Daniel Engle, both of Charleston, SC; aunts, Toni "Aunt Boni" Moody of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Lara Densmore and her husband, Denny, of New Hampshire; uncle, Donald "Bubby" Moody and his wife, Beth, and their children, William, Lyla, and Jackson, all of Isle of Palms, SC; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family requests that memorials be made to the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
