Nathan Patla Olasov, 67, of the Isle of Palms, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at home after a long fight with cancer. His funeral service was held at the graveside, Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Cemetery, Huguenin Avenue, Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11 a.m.
Nathan was unfailingly kind and generous - his True North was making others feel comfortable. He was devoted to his family, human and canine. He excelled early and often at sports, a standout in the state championship winning St. Andrews High School basketball team, a local table tennis champion, and a competitive tennis player, and remained an avid sports fan (notably, Clemson and Carolina) his whole life. He enjoyed music, movies, and good food, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. Nathan will be sorely missed by family and friends who cherished him.
Nathan was born in Charleston, SC, a son of Faye Rabinowitz Olasov and the late Sanford Olasov.
Nathan is survived by his wife, Lucinda Adams Olasov; son, Belvin Willis Adams Olasov, both of the Isle of Palms; his mother, Faye Olasov of Charleston; his sisters, Judy Olasov of San Fransisco and Barbara Rothbaum and her husband John of Atlanta, GA; and brother, Billy Olasov and his wife Chris of Charleston. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, his brother-in-law, John Ferrara, and his nephew, Anthony Olasov.
In Nathan's memory, donations may be made to the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406 or Palmetto Paws Rescue Charleston, 1058 Johnnie Dodds Boulevard, Mt. Pleasant SC 29464.
