Nathan Jean Hodges

Nathan Jean Hodges, Sr., 92, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Ruth Hodges, died Sunday, December 26, 2010, peacefully at home.

Born October 20, 1918 in Oconee, GA he was the son of Christopher Arthur Hodges, Sr. and Lilly Clyde Adams Hodges.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard.  He was a member of Cooper River Baptist Church.

Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth Hodges of North Charleston, SC; sons, Nathan Jean Hodges, Jr. and his wife Ann of Moncks Corner, SC and Joel E. Hodges, Sr. and his wife Susan of Hanahan, SC; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Wynelle Hodges Bone and her husband Roger of Okmulgee, OK.  He was preceded in death by a son, John Christopher Hodges.

The funeral service will be held in Cooper River Baptist Church, Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM.  Entombment with military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road Tuesday, December 28, 2010 between 5:00 and 7:00 PM.
