Nancy Louise Goelkel Ward

Nancy Louise Ward, wife of Stephen Day Ward, residence, Johns Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on the evening of Saturday, June 4, 2011. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen  D. Ward are invited to attend her memorial service in Grace Episcopal Church, June 24, 2011 at 3 pm.  Interment will be private.

Born May 26, 1942 in Chicago, IL, Nancy was the daughter of William Goelkel and Mary Keptchunis Goelkel. She had a BA degree in Accounting and worked in International Banking.  Nancy was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and a volunteer for Sea Island Habitat for Humanity.

Survivors include her husband, Stephen; 5 sons: Gary Diemer of South Elgin, IL, David Ward of Ridgefield, CT, Brian Ward of Jacksonville, FL, Jeremy Ward and Stephen Ward, both of Madison, WI:2 daughters: Elizabeth Deimer of Burwyn, IL and Stephanie Cibinic of Arlington, VA;  a brother: Robert Goelkel of Park Ridge, IL and 7 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sea Island Habitat for Humanity, 2545 Bohicket Road, Johns Island, SC 29455.
