Nancy Ellen Candish Vesper

Nancy Ellen Candish Vesper, 87, of Daniel Island, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024. Nancy was born March 27, 1937, in Grand Island, Nebraska, moving later to Ohio and then the Washington, DC, area, where she spent many years. After being valedictorian of her high school class, Nancy enrolled at American University, where she was a cheerleader and member of the homecoming court. It was there she met James Vesper. Over a milkshake at the Huddle House, love was born. Nancy married James and the two embarked on a lifetime of love, family, and boating on the Chesapeake Bay. Nancy was a beautiful woman who always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. She was a selfless wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. In her final years at Wellmore in Daniel Island, South Carolina, she brightened the days of staff and patients alike.

Nancy is survived by son James and his wife, Valerie, and their daughter Rachel; daughter Pamela Vesper and Adam Stallings and their daughter Clara; and son Glenn and his wife, Suzanne, and their children, Evie, Bennett, and Duncan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Edward Vesper. Nancy will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Interment will take place in Maryville, TN, at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
