Nancy Cawley Summersett, 71, of Awendaw, South Carolina, wife of the late Cecil Coleman Summersett died Sunday, January 7, 2018. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

Nancy was born July 9, 1946 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Marvin Holt Cawley and Pauline Gertrude Thomas Cawley. She was a former Director of the John Ancrum SPCA, now Charleston Animal Society and owner of McClellanville Feed & Seed. She was also the owner and broker for Waters Edge Real Estate. Nancy served on Awendaw Town Council, was secretary for the South Carolina Cutting Horse Association, and volunteered with the Awendaw Fire Department.

She is survived by daughter, Samantha Summersett of Awendaw, SC; two brothers, Ronnie Cawley (Paulette) of Awendaw, SC, and Marvin Cawley (Bonnie) of Myrtle Beach, SC; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and long time friends, Mark Todd, Bryan Todd and Doris Jackson.
