Nancy Lou Foster Stratford

Nancy Lou Foster Stratford, 71, wife of the late Maury Hayne Stratford of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011. The relatives and friends of Nancy Stratford are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the graveside on Thursday, July 21, 2011 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

Nancy was born on August 25, 1939 in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of the late James Foster and Goldy Foster.  She worked as a store manager and bookkeeper for Luden's Outfitters. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. One of her greatest joys was to experience the birth of her great-granddaughter, Jane Marie.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Cooper, Jr. and his wife, Rhonda, of Awendaw, SC; step-daughters, Shay Stratford and her husband Thomas Wilson, of Marshall, NC and Dale Stratford and her husband, Norman Markel, of Atlanta, GA; ten grandchildren, Ashley Jackson, Shannon Jackson, J.D. Cooper, III, Jayme and her husband, Eric Lake, Janna Cooper, Jennie Wilson, Scott Wilson, Aaron Markel, Jordan Markel and Philip Markel; and one great grandchild, Jane Marie Lake. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Jackson and her sister, Peggy Foster.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to Hospice of Charleston Foundation, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC  29464.
