Nancy Chambers Port, 58, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of William Alfred Port entered into eternal rest Friday, May 2, 2014. The family will receive friends Monday, May 5, 2014 in John Wesley United Methodist Church Chapel, 626 Savannah Highway at 3:00 pm until time of service. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 4:00 pm . Burial services will be announced at a later date.
Nancy was born September 23, 1955 in Winston Salem, North Carolina, daughter of Thomas Chambers and Lorna Angell Chambers. She was a graduate of North Carolina State University and held a masters degree from the College of Charleston . Nancy was a retired teacher with the Charleston School System, former employee of Charleston County Public Library. She was a member of John Wesley Methodist Church, enjoyed Bible study and also volunteered weekly at Hursey Elementary School as well as an avid pet lover.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Billy of Charleston; daughter, Anna Catherine Port; son, Madison Thomas Port all of Charleston, SC; sister, Cathy Bailey of Raleigh, NC; brother, Glen Chambers of Charlotte, NC. Nancy was a beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
