She entered Pfeiffer Junior College at 16 and graduated from Georgia College with a degree in Elementary Education. Later on, she earned a Masters Degree in Library Science from James Madison University. Nancy spent most of her life in Virginia and later in Tennessee, while also being fortunate to have lived in France, Puerto Rico, Japan and Germany. She loved traveling, was a voracious reader and loved all the arts. Nancy also enjoyed watching sports and working in her garden. Her greatest joy though was spending time with her family. She was a very involved grandmother and if there was a party, she was the life of it. She touched everyone she met and will forever be in our hearts and memories.
Nancy is survived by her children: Chuck Montgomery (Sue), Bill Montgomery (Angelica) and Mary Beth James (Tommy); three grandchildren: Olivia Suarez (Blake), Isabel James, and Grier Montgomery; and great-grandchildren: Agnes and Theo.
