Nancy Needle Mendelson , 80, died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, February 2, 2018.
She was born April 30,1937 in Charleston SC to Herman Needle and Helen Bromberg Needle.
Survivors include, her husband, Bernard Mendelson of 60 years; a daughter, Marsha Alterman (Doug) of Charleston, SC; a son, Steven Mendelson (Stephanie) of Asheville, NC; a sister, Jane Needle Bluestien (Joe) of Birmingham, AL; four loving grandchildren, Lily, Rosie, Ethan and Abby.
Funeral services will be held at J . Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018. Burial will follow in Emanu-El Cemetery (Maryville).
In lieu of flowers please make donations to, Nancy Mendelson Best Friends Fund at the Coastal Community Foundation, 635 Rutledge Avenue, Suite 201, Charleston SC 29403.
