Nancy Catherine Madsen-Hawkins

Nancy Catherine Madsen-Hawkins, 64, of Johns Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 20, 2017. Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Saturday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Nancy was born October 22, 1952 in Charleston, SC, daughter of Robert Allen Madsen and the late Margaret Rogers Madsen.

She is survived by her husband, William "Buddy" Hawkins; her father, Robert A. Madsen; two sisters, Suzanne M. Tuten and Lucy M. Guglielmino; a brother, R. Peter Madsen; aunts, uncles and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.Nancy graduated from First Baptist High School and earned bachelor's and master's degree's from the College of Charleston, with a special Internship at Goddard College in Art Therapy. She taught Art Therapy to exceptional children at C. J. Williams for a time and was an artist herself, working primarily in pastel watercolors and oils.
