Nancy Felder Attaway, 94, of Charleston, wife of the late Fred Jones Attaway, entered into eternal rest Sunday, May 27, 2018. Her Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Chapel at Bishop Gadsden, One Bishop Gadsden Way at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel.
Nancy was born December 16, 1923 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Frederick Joseph Felder and Mae Lunden Felder. She attended Memminger High School and Fairmont Finishing School. She was a member of St. Philip's Church, the Junior League of Charleston, the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, the Garden Club of Charleston, and the Ivy Garden Club. She was a cook extraordinaire, with a passion for playing bridge and tending to her flower garden.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Anne Attaway Connor of Winter Park, FL; sister, Harriet "Sissy" Felder McElveen of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren: Kathryn Connor McCrary (D. Campbell) of New York, NY, Christopher John Connor of Winter Park, FL, Austen Attaway Pickhardt (Ryan) of Greenville, SC and Tradd Martin Connor of Denver, CO; and great-granddaughters: Eugenia Lunden McCrary and Aubrey Potts McCrary.
Nancy was predeceased by her two sons: Fred Jones Attaway III and Stephen Capers Attaway; brother, Frederick Joseph Felder, Jr., and sister, Elizabeth F. Claypoole.
