Nadine C. Broad of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of James E. Broad passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Holy City Church, 1300 Fort Johnson Road at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street.

Nadine was the daughter of the late Arthur D. Coker and Rose Ellen Thigpen Coker. She was a church secretary for many years. She started a second career and retired from the Commission for the Blind. She spent her life serving the Lord. She was a charter member and instrumental in the start up for two churches: Clearview Baptist and Harbor Light Baptist.

She is survived by her two daughters: Sandra Gresham and husband Al and Carolyn Evans and husband Jimmy; three grandsons: Travis Evans (Shery), David Gresham (Kathye), and Greg Gresham; two great-granddaughters: Hannah and Kylie Evans; and one great-grandson, Jack Gresham.

She was predeceased by one sister and seven brothers.
