Myrna Lea Flowers, 61, of Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, wife of William R. Crosby died Saturday, December 15, 2012. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm. Following the service, family and friends are welcome at the Repast, 2863 Maybank Highway, John's Island (next to Wild Olive).
Myrna was born December 20, 1950 in Rock Hill, SC, daughter of Myra Mae Misskelley Horne and the late Albert J. Horne. Myrna was a very endearing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved nothing more than spending good times with her beloved family and friends. She was an avid watcher and collector of dolphins and enjoyed living on a house boat for many years on the Folly River prior to residing on Wadmalaw Island, SC. Her patience and willingness to care for others is immeasurable. Her animals Gizmo, Coco and beloved Casper brought immense joy to her everyday. She was a graduate of Berkeley High School and was the Events Coordinator and Operations Manager for the Stono Cafe Catering ,and was also employed by the Irvin House Vineyards.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, William R. Crosby; her mother, Myra Mae Horne; two sons, James H. Flowers III of John's Island, SC, and Jay Flowers (Lisa) of Charleston, SC; step-daughter, Jennifer Jai Quigley (Josh) of Pawley's Island, SC; mother-in-law, Annie L. Crosby of North Charleston, SC; and extended family, Kelly O'Rourk Carroll (Kevin) of Wadmalaw Island, SC, Ryan O'Rourk of Wadmalaw Island, SC; two brothers, Albert J. Horne II of John's Island, and Bob Horne (Brenda) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sisters, Melissa Scott, and Laura Becky King (Alan ) both of John's Island, SC; a brother-in-law L.T. Crosby (Linda) of John's Island, SC; nine grandchildren; eight extended grandchildren; and two nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Myrna Flowers to the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston, 81 Gadsden Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
