Myra Mae Horne

Myra Mae Horne, 90, of Johns Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 23, 2023. The family has decided to have a private service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Myra was born October 16, 1932 in Lesslie, South Carolina, daughter of the late WG Miskelly and Melba Williams Porcher. Myra spent her life as the matriarch of her family. She was always there to help everyone who needed or asked her for anything. She had a varied work life through the years, but the best memories and effect she had on others was working as a manager at McDonald's. Customers and employees alike all respected her passion and commitment to them. She is remembered as a strong woman who always let you know where you stood. Myra always put her children and grandchildren first, and made many sacrifices to ensure they had no needs.

She is survived by her sons, Albert Horne of Johns Island and Bob Horne (Brenda) of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Melissa Scott and Laura King, both of Johns Island; four grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Myra was preceded in death by her daughter, Myrna Flowers.
