MSgt. Robert D. Hollar Jr. USAF Ret.

MSgt. Robert D. Hollar, Jr., USAF Ret., 80, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Betty Lou McKinney Hollar, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010, in the Veteran Victory House.

Born January 28, 1930 in Newton, North Carolina he was the son of Robert D. Hollar and Vestie Allen Hollar.  He joined the US Navy but served most of his 20 year career in the USAF. Mr. Hollar was also employed by civil service and worked at the Charleston Air Base.

Mr. Hollar is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Hollar of North Charleston, SC; daughters, Daphne Denise Pressley and her husband Larry of Smithville, TN and Teresa Lynn Besco and her husband Mike of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Robert Scott Hollar of North Charleston, SC; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Friday, November 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM.  Entombment with full military honors to follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Friday one hour prior to the service.
