Msgt Ernest Alfred Pichard

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of June 20, 2011, MSGT Ernest Alfred Pichard, USAF (Ret.), husband of Lynette Mavis Arscott Pichard.  Residence, North Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Pichard are invited to attend his funeral services in the Charleston Air Force Base Chapel, Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 10 am.  Entombment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST CHAPEL Wednesday afternoon from 6 until 8 pm. 

Mr. Pichard was born on February 18, 1923 in California, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Alfred and Julia Van Varenburg Pichard.  MSGT Pichard retired after 24 years of service in the Army Air Corps and the United States Air Force and was a veteran of World War II and Korea.  He was also an instructor for many years at the United Electronics Institute.  He attended church services at the Charleston Air Base Chapel.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years; four daughters, Carol Rasmussen and her husband Vilhelm "Bill" of Greeneville, TN, Andrea McMurray and her husband Andrew of Kansas City, MO, Debra Pichard of North Charleston, Donna Lavery and her husband Dennis of North Charleston; and a dear friend, Dennis Connolly of North Charleston, who was more like a son; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; nieces, Sherri Moody and her husband Richard and Rochelle Holmes all of Long Beach, CA.  Mr. Pichard was preceded in death by a sister, Denise Kinney and a nephew, Steven Kinney.
