Mouzon Taylor

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Saturday, September 25, 2010, Mouzon  Taylor, Sr., husband of Gloria Prine Taylor.  Residence, North Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Mouzon Taylor, Sr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL at Two O'clock with Masonic Rites immediately following.  Interment services will be conducted later.

Mr. Taylor was born January 11, 1926 in Awendaw, SC the son of the late Robert Gantt Taylor and Catherine Cumbee Taylor.  He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, Chicora Masonic Lodge #366 and was a Master Mason being a member of the Scottish and York Rite.  He was also a member of the Omar Shrine Temple where he was the past Captain of the "Marching Patrol", VFW Post #5091, Cross American Legion Post #157 and was a past Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop #481.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria P. Taylor of North Charleston, SC; a son, Mouzon Taylor, Jr. of North Charleston, SC; a daughter, Karen Taylor Smith of North Charleston, SC; a sister, Mary Horton of Summerville, SC; a brother, Julian Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a grand daughter, Jennifer Smith of North Charleston, SC and two great granddaughters, McKayla Tillis and McKenzie Smith both of North Charleston, SC.
