Morris Clifton Poulos Jr, affectionately known as “Cliff,” passed away on October 14, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, dedication, and kindness. Born on August 31, 1958,in Charleston, South Carolina, Cliff was the oldest of five children born to Morris Clifton Poulos Sr. and Geneva Faye Poulos. Throughout his life, he demonstrated a strong commitment to his country, his work, and, most importantly, his family.

Cliff proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, dedicating two decades of his life to serving his country. Following his military career, he continued his professional journey with NASA, where he worked for more than 20 years. His years of service reflected his strong work ethic, perseverance, and dedication.

While Cliff accomplished much throughout his career, his greatest treasures were the people he loved. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Frances, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, memories, and family.

Cliff was a loving father to Melinda Yates and Jason Poulos, and a caring stepfather to Elizabeth Schmidt and Victoria Arroyave. He was also a proud grandfather to Austin and Dylan Yates, Emma and Annabelle Poulos, and Sophia Arroyave. His children and grandchildren brought a special kind of joy to his life.

Cliff is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Frances; his mother, Geneva Faye Poulos; his sisters, Peggy Durgin and Barbara Stunkard; his brother, Robert Poulos; his children, Melinda Yates, Jason Poulos, Elizabeth Schmidt, and Victoria Arroyave; and his five cherished grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Emma, Annabelle, and Sophia. He also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, and all those whose lives he touched throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Clifton Poulos Sr, and his youngest brother, George Allen Poulos.

Beyond his career and accomplishments, Cliff will be remembered for his love of family, his affection for his pets, and his willingness to help others. He had a generous heart and found meaning in being there for the people and animals he cared about. His kindness, loyalty, and love were gifts he shared with those around him, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.

From his years of military service to his more than two decades working at NASA, Cliff dedicated much of his life to serving others and contributing to something greater than himself. But his most enduring legacy is the family he loved and the lives he touched along the way.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. The lessons he taught, the kindness he showed, and the love he gave will continue to live on through the generations that follow him.

Cliff will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. His life was a gift to those who knew him, and his memory will remain in our hearts always.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2026, at 10:00 am at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC.
