The world will have to do without the beloved and charming Mitchell Frank Walker who passed away on the morning of October 29, 2011, husband of Anne Wheatley Walker and father to Lindsey Anne Walker. He was a long-time resident of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mitch and Anne Walker are invited to attend his funeral services in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy., Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at 11:00 am. His burial will be private. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel Wednesday one hour prior to the service.

Mitch was born November 14, 1953 in Los Altos, California, a son of the late James Albert Walker and the late Mary Butherus Walker. Shortly after graduating from Beaufort High School, Beaufort, SC, he moved to Charleston. He enjoyed the majority of his career at Kerrison's Department Stores as a manager and buyer. His most recent project was as the owner and operator of Classic Carpet Cleaning.

He is survived by his "girls", wife, Anne of Charleston and a daughter, Lindsey Anne Walker of Arlington, VA.; as well as four brothers, Dennis Walker and Terry Walker, both of Savannah, GA, Tommy Walker of Jacksonville, FL and Jim Walker of Beaufort, SC; and three sisters, Nancy Smith of Vienna, VA, Kathryn Schaeffer and Maryann Carter, both of Jacksonville, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association of SC, 409 King Street, Suite 300, Charleston, SC 29403 or to the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
