Mitchell Ryan Newby, 34, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011.  The relatives and friends of Mitchell Newby are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Thursday, April 21, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 2:00 PM. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 1:00 PM until time of the service. 

Mitchell was born October 21, 1976 in Florence, South Carolina, son of Barbara Hawthorne Newby and the late Robert K. Newby.  He was a chef at Acme Cantina on the Isle of Palms, SC.  He loved life and enjoyed his many friends. 

He is survived by his mother, Barbara H. Newby of Florence, SC; his longtime love and the mom of his son, April Shove of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Micah Hawthorne Newby of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother, Jason Newby and his wife, Leigh, of Florence, SC; aunt, Fran Stepp of Greenville, SC; and uncle, Lakon Newby and his wife, Mary, of Williamston, SC. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Cornelia and Robert Hawthorne.
