Miriam Mimi Pearl Shannon was born in 1922 to Russian immigrants Adele and Isaac Pearl. She drifted to eternal slumber on June 25th in her home and surrounded by her loving family.
Mimi grew up in NYC and spent much of her free time in Coney Island. She loved dancing, sewing, and singing. Mimi loved gardening, cooking, reading, fussing about making sure the pets were fed, and knowing that her family was happy and safe.
She met her late husband, Dale Shannon, during WWII and they were married in May of 1946. Together they raised and are survived by their three loving children Mick, Pat, and Donna. Mimi is also survived by her five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Arrangements by J.HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Her Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 pm at the graveside at Plantation Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
In lieu of flowers, Mimi's family requests that donations are made to the Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29407.
She was a tough old bird, and her family will do their best to be just as tough as she was.
