Minnie B. Tarr

Minnie B. Tarr, 82, of Charleston, SC, widow of Ulys O. Tarr, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 peacefully at home.

She was born on August 21, 1928 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Walter Bartley and Elma Thomas Bartley.  She was a devoted grandmother who helped with raising her grandchildren, Josie and Jimmy.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Wright and her husband Vannie of Summerville, SC and Rose Marie MacDonald of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren:  Josie Elaine MacDonald, Van Wright, Jr., Laurie Brooks and her husband Scott, Scott Christopher Wright and Jimmy MacDonald all of Summerville, SC; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and special friends she leaves behind. 

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 1:00 PM.  Interment to follow at Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel one hour prior to the service.
