Minnie Dorothea Pace Smith, 89, of Johns Island, South Carolina, wife of Angus Stuart Smith, Jr., entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside, Friday January 24, 2014 in Bethany Cemetery, 10 Cunnington Street, Charleston, SC at 11:00 a.m.

Minnie was born June 27, 1924 in Marion, South Carolina, daughter of Daniel C. Pace and Julia Davis Pace. She was a graduate of Loris High School. Minnie retired with over twenty eight years of service at SC National Bank, working in several different departments over her career. She was a member of The American and Coastal Camellia Society. She was also a member of Cooper River Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years of Johns Island, SC; her daughter, Dr. Cynthia P. Smith and her husband, Wayne N. Rhea, of Wadmalaw Island, SC; two sons, Richard L. Smith and Wayne S. Smith, both of Johns Island, SC and a close family friend, Kelli C. Klein, DVM.

The family would also like to thank Mrs. Michelle Childs, caregiver to Mr. and Mrs. Smith, for her wonderful and loving care of Minnie for over three years.
