Bill is preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverly M. Loehr.
The relatives and friends of the late Mr. & Mrs. Milton "Bill" Loehr, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral service of the former in Pinecrest Baptist Church, 1285 Ashley Hall Road, Charleston, Sunday, October 24, 2010 at two o'clock. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, Saturday, October 23, 2010 from six until eight o'clock.
Mr. Loehr was born August 16, 1929 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Milton H. Loehr, Sr. and Mildred H. Loehr of North Hills, Pennsylvania.
He was retired after 33 years service from the Commander, Naval Base Headquarters Staff.
He is survived by two daughters: Missy Loehr Thompson and husband Kirby of Prattville, Alabama and Edie Loehr Miller and husband Jamie of Chancellor, Alabama; four grandchildren: Nathan Thompson and wife Ashlie, Erin Thompson, Katherine Miller Parker and husband Jason and Jamie Miller, Jr.; great grandchildren: Karolin
-Grace Parker and Brady Thompson ; two sisters: Virginia L. Havicon and husband Jack of Camarillo, California, Marjorie Renaldi of Oakmont, Pennsylvania; two brothers: Robert C. Loehr and wife Shirley of Allison Park, Pennsylvania and Paul Loehr and wife Sarah of Beevile, Texas. A brother, Robert C. Loehr, preceded Mr. Loehr in death.
Mr. Loehr was a Life Member of The Citadel Alumni Association, member of the Master of Business Administration Chapter of The Citadel, Past Member of the Board of Visitors for Charleston Southern University, Life Member of Chapter 37 of the Disabled American Veterans, Life Member and Past Master of Strict Observance Masonic Lodge 73, Life Member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry DALCO Consistory, Knight Commander of the Court of Honor of the Scottish Rite Southern Jurisdiction and Deacon Emeritus at Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Center for Childhood Language Disorder Center, 1051 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407.
